CHARGES

Twenty-two year old man arrested for DUI after skidding almost 100 feet and crashing into a tree.  He and his passenger were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.  He was charged with DUI with an accident involving great bodily injury.  He faced six years in prison.

CASE OUTCOME

After extensive negotiation, the charges were reduced to a misdemeanor.  He spent two weeks in jail and then served less than 30 days on supervised home confinement.  He was able to move on with his life without the stigma of a felony conviction.
